Vorteil’s founders were early adopters of container technologies and proud contributors to projects like LXC and LXD. Back in 2013, motivated by the challenges of managing and securing container solutions, we started looking for a better way to deploy enterprise applications. Our goal was to merge the portability and scalability of containers with the security and isolation of virtual machines.
What started out as a hobby project grew into something much bigger, and in 2015, Vorteil.io was born. Since then we’ve focused on developing the product even further and expanding our integration capabilities with the market’s leading technologies.
In creating Vorteil, we’ve been able to combine our experience in consultancy with our knowledge of the operational issues that large enterprises face. Knowing that we’re making other development teams’ lives easier is what we work for!

He powers the Vorteil vision based on experience as the Founder of iQ Consultant, a software and consultancy organisation – as well as corporate experience within the industry’s leading companies like Dell/EMC, VMware and NTT Telecommunications (previously Dimension Data).
Jens Gerke
Co-founder (Lead Developer)
Vorteil’s Lead software developer, Jens is a highly experienced Solutions Designer and Vorteil’s go-to technologist. Before co-founding Vorteil, Jens was the Principal Solutions Designer at Westpac, where he created the first NFC payment platform for the Australian banking industry.
